Why not Introduce Yourself !

Now we have a forum where owners can chat, exchange ideas, and post updates on what is happening at TVG I thought it might be an idea if we introduced ourselves to our fellow owners.

So here goes....

I'm Mark and live in Harlow in the UK with my wife Denise. I work in IT so you might think I'd like to get away from all this technology stuff when I get home. No such luck. I spend quite a bit of time managing our own web sites

I jointly own an apartment at TVG with my dad and we try to make several visits to Cyprus a year. We've been out there twice so far this year.

Let's have a bit of fun here, and hopefully make this a friendly and informative site.

Michael and Pam here.We took over our apartment at Kyklamino in July 2006 and have been visiting 3/4 times a year.
This year has been very disapointing with the problems at TVG but hopefully things are on the up again.
We are next in Paphos Sept 10th so hope to see anyone then.

Tom and Caia here. We have an apartment in Kyklamino and are planning to visit Cyprus next in September (if we haven't sold in the meantime). We are very disappointed with the problems at TVG and the lack of holiday lets for our apartment; we are about to start marketing it for sale with BuySell Cyprus. We've met Darren and family and have spoken with other owners but it would be nice to meet anyone else who is there when we visit (we'll post dates when flights are booked). If anyone lives near us in England we could also meet here (we live in Shropshire).

Hi - we are Ursula and Chris and we also have an appartment in Kyklamino. We usually go out in June and October and whenever we get a free week. We live just outside Cardiff and would be happy to meet up with any owners who live in this area. We really don't want to sell our appartment because when the place is well maintained, it looks really good and we enjoy going out there. Once this awful period of uncertainty is over we would like to see proper management of the development so that we can all start to think about improvements to the site.

We are Mike and San. We also have an apartment in Kyklamino. We have used it three times since buying Feb 2007 (going again in Aug/Sept). Unlike many of you, we did not buy ours 'off plan' so we were totally unaware of the problems some of the homeowners were having with their properties and AP. It’s been quite enlightening to say the least! We love our apartment – and the complex – and were disappointed by AP’s actions earlier this year which potentially devalued our investment. Thanks Mark, this forum is a great idea so let’s all use it to our advantage and communicate with each other.

Hi - we are Steve & Maria and we bought our apartment in Arodaphne House in 2006, and, like Mike & San we bought ours as a resale, and were equally blissfully unaware of the issues others had who had bought off plan. However, those are issues with the developer and not the owners, and non-payment of fees just shoots themselves in the foot as the complex declines as does the value of their investments as well as ours - we will all loose, but could we could all so easily gain ia lot more if others would stop being so obstructive.

Maria is a Greek Cypriot by birth (from the east end of the island) and bi-lingual as Greek is her mother tongue. I work in the Finance industry, and we both live in Grays, Essex and have 3 grown up children 27, 25 and 21. We like to get out to the apartment as much as possible (time, work and money permitting!) which we usually tie-in with visiting the in-laws.

Our plans were to use this as a bolt-hole, try to generate some income, and perhaps a stepping stone to possibly retiring to Cyprus permanently in the future. Would be very happy to meet with other owners in the UK as well as in Cyprus, so let us know when you are going to be there.

Hi Tom & Caia - sorry to hear that you are trying sell. If it is not rude to ask, what do BuySell Cyprus charge, and what price have they suggested for your apartment as sadly I fear we may well have to go down this road ourselves and it would be helpful to get a bit of a "heads-up". Equally, will quite understand if you do not want to reply.

Just some third hand information....
We have spoken to a rep from Leptos estates, about other matters. In passing, he told us that BuySell had lost their appeal to trade in Cyprus. - We didn't take too much notice, as we weren't going down that route. - Apparently BuySell are not registered as Estate Agents, but are acting as such. The rep told us that BuySell offices would shortly be closing in Cyprus - don't know if this is genuine or not, but it may be worth exploring further before handing over any of your money to advertise with them.

Here are Tina and Michael from Moscow (Russia). We have bought the apartment in TVG (Arodaphne) in March 2007. We were here in June and Augst 2007 and it WAS a beautiful and comfortable place! Now it's not the same and we are very upset how the things are going here because we pay all the fees regularly.
We're very glad to find this web-site and to join the Forum - we want to know all the news. But I can't enter the Owners Only Forum
Please help me!
We'll be glad to see you in Cyprus in October.
